Limited Warranty

Who is covered by this Limited Warranty?

This Limited Warranty, which is provided by Instant Car Fix LLC, in only applicable to the original purchaser of Vehicle Services that was requested and scheduled through the ICF platform and does not extend to any person who may purchase your car after the Vehicles services are performed.

What does this Limited Warranty cover?

Warranty is applicable only for the material and workmanship provided by ICF.

What happens if you are outside our service area when you file a claim?

If you file a claim and we determine there is no qualified Technician available to provide service, we will authorize you to take your car to a registered automotive repair shop or dealer service center that we select. If the repair shop or service center determines that the claimed defect is a result of a defect in materials or workmanship of the Vehicle Services, we will reimburse you for the cost of the repair up to the amount actually paid by you to us for the Vehicle Services. (Note that any discounts or promotions you applied towards payment of the Vehicle Services will not count as amounts you paid.) To receive reimbursement you must supply us with a copy of the inspection report and the repair invoice from the registered automotive repair shop or dealer service center together with the repair shop or dealer service center’s phone number. We may also require return of any parts found to be defective.

What is the duration of the Limited Warranty?

This Limited Warranty expires in 12 months or 12,000 miles of use, whichever comes first, measured from the date the Vehicle Services are provided. Note that any remedial work performed under this Limited Warranty will not restart the Warranty Period. Some materials provided by Technicians may carry a separate warranty that extends beyond the Warranty Period (e.g., some car batteries are covered by a manufacturer’s five-year warranty). In those instances, the term of the manufacturer’s warranty will apply to the materials (but workmanship will remain subject to the Warranty Period). Other Vehicle Services such as oil changes are not covered by Limited Warranty.

What will we do in the event of a defect in the Services during the Warranty Period?

If there is a materials or workmanship defect within the Warranty Period, we will, at our option and at no additional cost to you: (i) engage a Technician from our company to perform remedial service work and/or replace defective part(s) installed in connection with the Vehicle Services; or (ii) If you choose to engage a third-party service provider to perform remedial work instead of allowing our designated Technician to do so, the warranty will become void. This means that if you opt to have someone other than our authorized Technician undertake any remedial service work or replacement of defective parts, the warranty coverage will no longer apply. This also implies that you will not be eligible for any reimbursements or compensation for the costs incurred from the third-party service provider. Additionally, any further claims or requests for warranty-related assistance will be denied. It is important to adhere to the terms outlined in the warranty agreement to ensure continued coverage and support for any materials or workmanship defects within the specified warranty period.

In addition to the voiding of the warranty coverage and the ineligibility for reimbursements, any requests for refunds related to the warranty will also be denied. This means that if you opt to engage a third-party service provider for remedial work instead of our authorized Technician and encounter any issues or dissatisfaction with the service provided, or if you deny access to our designated Technician to perform remedial service work, you will not be entitled to a refund of any fees paid for the original Vehicle Services or associated warranty coverage. It is crucial to consider these terms before making a decision regarding remedial service work to ensure understanding and compliance with the warranty agreement.

We neither assume nor authorize anyone to assume for us any other obligation or liability in connection with the Vehicle Services.

Are there any clauses under limited warranty?

Incorrect Information Clause:

If a customer submits any inaccurate or incorrect information to the claims department during the warranty claim process, the claim will be immediately voided. It is imperative that all information provided to the claims department is truthful, accurate, and complete to ensure the validity of the warranty claim.

Mileage Exceedance Clause:

In the event that a customer submits a claim with less than 12000 miles accrued on the vehicle from the date of the last service provided by Instant Car Fix at the time of initiating the claim, but surpasses the 12000-mile threshold before submitting the necessary documentation to the claims department, the warranty claim will not be processed. It is incumbent upon the customer to ensure the prompt submission of all requisite paperwork within the specified mileage threshold.

Warranty Replacement Policy and Part Upgrade Options:

In the case of a warranty claim, the customer will receive the same brand or an equivalent part of equal or lesser value as originally used in the work order. If the customer opts to upgrade to a higher-grade part, they will be responsible for any additional costs incurred. Moreover, if both parts and labor were paid for in the original work order, Instant Car Fix will handle the procurement of replacement parts under warranty. This policy is implemented to facilitate the return of the defective part to the vendor.

Single Claim Per Order:

Under this provision, customers are restricted to initiating just one claim per order. Submissions of multiple claims pertaining to the same order will not be entertained. It is imperative that customers consolidate any warranty-related matters into a singular claim submission for each individual order made.

What is not covered by this Limited Warranty?

This Limited Warranty does not cover:

Any damage to your car caused by abnormal use (such as use in a commercial venture), misuse, neglect (such as not performing maintenance services in accordance with the instructions in the owner’s manual for your car), alteration or tampering, or by external causes (such as accidents, fire, water and freezing);

Any work for which you have paid the mechanic directly, rather than making your payment through the ICF Platform;

Any diagnostic or inspection service including pre-purchase inspection services provided through the ICF Platform;

Any work not scheduled and processed through the ICF Platform, including any work performed by a Technician originally introduced to you through the ICF Platform to the extent such work was not scheduled and processed through the ICF Platform;

Any issues unrelated to the Vehicle Services ordered by you (e.g., if you order an alternator replacement because your car was not starting, and the car continues not to start after the alternator is replaced, this Limited Warranty does not cover the fact that the car does not start);

Typically, when a part of your car is under warranty, it means that if something goes wrong with that part due to regular use or manufacturing defects, the company will handle the cost of repairing or replacing it. However, there are scenarios where the warranty may not apply, such as when the problem is caused by something outside of normal use or the part is damaged due to specific actions. For instance, let's say you recently had the starter in your car replaced, and it came with a warranty. This warranty ensures that if the starter encounters any issues due to how it was made or from regular use, the company will address it at no extra charge. However, if your car's battery fails and you continue trying to start the engine despite knowing the battery is faulty, this can harm the starter. In such a situation, the warranty might not cover the damage because it resulted from the bad battery and your persistent attempts to start the car despite the known battery issue.

Any pre-existing condition with your car that is not known by the Technician prior to starting the Vehicle Services and that is discovered during or after the Vehicle Services are performed (e.g., if you engage the Technician to replace valve cover gaskets, but during the removal of the valve covers, worn plastic hoses break because they are old and brittle; repairing and/or replacing the plastic hoses under that scenario would not be covered by this Limited Warranty);

Any repairs that you request the Technician to perform beyond those included in the Technician’s diagnosis of the problem, and which the Technician performs, even if those additional repairs are needed to fix the issue you asked the Technician to diagnose; provided, however, that if you authorize and pay for additional repairs through ICF, such additional repairs would be included in the Vehicle Services and covered by this Limited Warranty; and

Any consequential effects of the Vehicle Services performed, unrelated to any of the parts replaced being defective or any of the repair work being done incorrectly (e.g., if you request a transmission fluid service, but because you have not been replacing the transmission fluid regularly, when the Technician replaces the fluid, with the right fluid installed properly, your transmission stops shifting properly because it cannot handle the new fluid—this is a “consequential effect” not covered by this Limited Warranty).

This Limited Warranty is entirely void when:

The customer decides to purchase their own parts outside of ICF platform.

The customer requests Vehicle Services which is different from manufacturer’ recommendations. (e.g. customer requests conventional oil when the manufacturer recommends only synthetic oil for the vehicle).

After receiving the Vehicle Services, you take your car to a person not scheduled and processed through the ICF Platform to diagnose or repair a problem believed to be associated with such Vehicle Services, without giving ICF the first opportunity to inspect and remedy the problem.

Any determination of whether this Limited Warranty does not apply or is otherwise void as to a particular warranty claim shall be made by us in our sole discretion.

You will be charged for one hour of labor fees if a service call is made under this Limited Warranty for an alleged defect determined not to be the result of a defect in materials or workmanship of the Vehicle Services.
